Attachment and Responsive Caregiving

Description

Course length: 1.5 hrs

The course addresses common caregiver concerns about whether group care can affect children’s attachments to their families. Participants will explore how children can develop genuine attachment networks that include trusted teachers and caregivers alongside their family members.

Drawing on research such as the NICHD Study of Early Child Care, the course examines how the quality of group care can influence children’s developmental outcomes—particularly for children who may have fewer sensitive and responsive relationships at home.
